Well I think that's a reasonable
question
for anyone to ask with a nick name
like that!
First my real name is Linda and
I own a small horse boarding stable in the Rochester New York area with about 50 acres to play on.
I have six of my own horses, eight boarders and I
occasionally foster and/or take in a rescue horse! I also have four dogs, 3 cats, a parakeet, a ferret and a guinea pig!
I do what I can to rehabilitate the abused, misguided,
neglected and discarded equines for placement
in loving and caring homes. I've owned and been
around horses most of my life and still
enjoy going to the barn every morning listening
to the "greetings" from my equine friends.
With giving lessons occasionally, working with "problem" horses from time to time, taking care of all my kritters and still maintain my house and the human members of my famnily, keeps me pretty busy!
I grew up the oldest in a large family and helped out my mother a lot with such a large bunch of kids! I really think I was just meant to sort of "Mother" everything, since I was very young and even then, I loved animals and caring for them.
My husband Denny and I have two sons, Dan and D.J. with the youngest ( Dan) soon to turn 18 this year and our other son ( D.J.) has a family of his own now and has blessed me with a granddaughter too ( another story..LOL).
Throughout the years I've picked up a number of tricks and "home remedies" that are handy,
inexpensive and easy to do.
I also enjoy making web pages, screen savers,
backgrounds and working with graphics in general,
on my computer. It's sort of "a hobby"!
The Name Barn Mom sort of stuck a few years ago when one of my
horse boarders ( Rita) started calling me that. The horses had their human Mom but I was "The Barn Mom" who looked after them when their "Mom's" couldn't be be here!
And that's how "Barn Mom" came about!
That's about it, nothing real exciting but sums it up pretty well!
